Rocket hits near US embassy in Iraq

A Katyusha rocket was fired into the Iraqi capital’s heavily fortified Green Zone “al-Khazra”, nearby U.S. embassy.

According to Middle East Press International News, al-Khazra diplomatic and security center was targeted by rocket attacks.

An Iraqi security source told Reuters “initial reports indicate that the rocket did not cause casualties and was fired from a truck car in ‘New Baghdad’ area.”

Meanwhile, the US President issued a controversial tweet a few moments after the rocket clashed near US embassy in Iraq.

“If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran,” Trump said to Irani leaders in a tweet. “Never threaten the United States again.”

Iranian officials have not reacted to this Trump`s action so far.

The rocket attack came at a time when tensions between the United States and Iran reached their highest levels, and Washington pulled out unnecessary diplomats from their embassy in Baghdad.
