Unidentified gunmen shot a religious scholar in Behsood district of Nangarhar province.
According to Middle East Press, the the incident took place in the Akhondzadah area of Behsood district last night, said Farid Khan, head of the Nangarhar police headquarters.
According to him, in the event, unidentified gunmen shot Mulla Mohammed Hanif and escaped from the area.
Farid Khan said that the cause of the incident has not been determined so far and police investigation has begun to arrest the perpetrators.
The assassination of religious scholars in Nangarhar province wasn`t unprecedented and a few days ago, the gunmen had killed Imam of a mosque.
