Professor At ‘Kabul University’ Arrested Over Extremism

Mawlavi MaroofKABUL: (MEP) Mawlavi Maroof Rasikh, a professor of Islamic law faculty of Kabul University on charges of extremism and links to terrorist groups has been arrested.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) officers after identifying the professor, arrested him and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

However, Faisal Amin, a spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education has confirmed that Mawlavi Maroof, professor of Islamic law at Kabul University and leader of Kuwait Al-Khair Mosque has been arrested after he was promoting extremism in front of the male dormitory on the campus of the University.

No further details were given on the report yet.

Its believed that Mawlavi Maroof was detained on charges of links to Islamic State (IS) or (Daesh) terrorist group.
