Prison Break in Paktia; 7 Escaped
KABUL (MEP) – Seven prisoners have fled from the central jail of Paktia province, said local officials.
Paktia provincial spokesman Abdullah Hasrat says the prisoners managed to escape from the prison midnight.
According to provincial spokesperson, preliminary information indicates that seven prisoners escaped from the jail last night and efforts are underway to recapture them.
It is still unclear how the prisoners have managed to break the detention center, Hasrat further stated.
Jailbreak has also taken place in other provinces in recent years, previously hundreds of prisoners had escaped Qandahar prison in 2011.
