Prince Bin Salman Arrives In Washington

Bin Salman Vists USMEP: Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has arrived in the United States of Washington to hold a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and other officials.

The powerful deputy prince is also expected to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, according to Saudi media.

The leaders will discuss issues on boosting Saudi-U.S. relations and regional subjects.

The visit of Mohammed bin Salman, whose powers include his role as defense minister, comes amid a diplomatic row with the United Nations and policy differences with the United States over the war in Syria and relations with Iran.

Meanwhile, U.S. Department of State spokesperson Mark Toner uncovered that the meeting between both parties would also focus on developments in Yemen and the importance of fighting terrorism.

The Deputy Crown Prince will meet on Wednesday with House Speaker Paul Ryan, who visited Riyadh last April, and Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, in addition to Republican and Democratic leaders. He will also hold a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.

On Thursday, the Deputy Crown Prince will meet with President Obama at the White House. The Prince will also meet with U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter in Norfolk, VA. Following that meetings, the Deputy Crown Prince will meet with the President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Thomas Donohue and members of the chamber.

The development comes as Mohammed bin Salman had said ahead of his visit that Saudi Arabia is responsible for funding 20% of the cost of Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the US presidential race.
