KABUL: (Middle East Press) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left for Iran on Sunday along with some high ranking delegation to meet the president of Iran, Hassan Rouhani.

Ghani will hold a conference to discuss security, politics, economy, cooperation on cultural and social matters with the Iranian president and officials.

According to reports, Mohammad Hanif Atmar the security advisor to the president, Mohammad Mohaqiq the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Salahuddin Rabani the foreign minister and other senior officials are accompanying Ghani in the trip.

President Ghani’s visit comes after Iran expressed strong concern over the appearance of ISIL Islamic State of the Levant in Afghanistan.

‎This is the first trip of Ghani to Iran as the President of Afghanistan.
