President Ghani Leaves Tajikistan For England

President GhaniMEP: President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday left Dushanbe, Tajikistan for London to attend the International Anti-Corruption Summit.

The president is expected to hold talks with British officials and attend the anti-corruption conference where a large number of world leaders will be presented, a statement by Presidential Palace (ARG) said.

Ghani’s attendance to the anti-corruption conference comes as Afghanistan is in the upper levels of most corrupted countries and no serious action has been taken to fight corruption so far.

Mr Ghani in the early days of his presidency observed Kabul Bank case as the biggest case of corruption in the country but the case has not been completed yet and the perpetrators of corruption are freely living and trading.

However, the Great Britain is to host an international meeting on combating corruption after Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday night met the Queen Elizabeth telling her that Afghanistan and Nigeria were “fantastically corrupt.”
