President Ghani Leaves For Tajikistan
MEP: President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday morning left Kabul for Dushanbe invited by his Tajik counterpart, President Emomali Rahmon, a head of a high ranking delegation.
A statement by Presidential Palace (ARG) said President Ghani will meet with the President, Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament and representatives separately during the two-day visit.
The leaders of the two nations are expected to discuss the development of relations and cooperations between the two countries in various fields, the statement added.
According to the statement, the relevant authorities of the two countries will sign cooperation agreements in the presence of the presidents during the visit.
In his visit, Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, Ali Ahmad Osmani, Minister of Energy and Water, Farid Hamidi, the Attorney General and Qudratullah Delawari, the head of DABS accompanied him.
It is said that Ghani will also discuss the implementation of CASA-1000 project with the officials of Tajikistan.
CASA-1000 is a project of an electricity transmission from Kirghizstan to Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Based on the agreement between the countries, a thousand and three megawatts power will be transferred from Kirghizstan and Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
