President Ghani Contributes In Kabul’s Cleanliness

398_963237920419117_4472057262170567999_nKABUL: (MEP) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on Monday contributed in the Kabul municipality cleaning campaign and took part in the program to collect garbage from the city, which officially began from Bebe Mehro area.

Ghani said government was however looking for solutions to the problem. The municipality meanwhile has been without a mayor for almost two years.

The event was also attended by Minister of Public Works and acting mayor of the city.

“Kabul city and Bagrami district will be cleaned in the initial phase of the campaign and the garbage will be shifted to Gazak area.” Ghani added.

He said that a special unit will be created for the city’s garbage removal.

“For continued cleaning of Kabul city a special unit will be created and the second phase I will announce within two months,” Ghani noted.

He said that there were up to 100,000 cubic meters of garbage had been collected fromthe city and Bagram district.

“We all should take part in maintaining our city clean,” he emphasized.

This comes as President Ghani insisted on the appointment of a qualified mayor to turn Kabul city into one of the best cities of the world after he assumed office as the newly-elected Afghan president.
