President Ghani Arrives In Tehran For Chabahar Agreement

Ghani in TehranMEP: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani a head of a high ranking delegation arrived in Iran’s capital Tehran to sign the tripartite agreement on transit port of Chabahar between Afghanistan, India and Iran.

This is the second trip of President Ghani to Iran since coming to power in the past 20 months.

A statement by his office (ARG) said that Ghani landed at Tehran’s airport after a two-day visit to Qatar.

India has invested $85 million in the equipping phase of a development plan for the port of Chabahar, for 10 years of operation of this phase will be undertaken.

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has already arrived in Tehran Sunday to discuss the issues of bilateral interest between the two countries besides signing the Chabahar agreement.
