Police Arrests 22 Afghans in Pakistan’s Punjab

922827-policemenafpx-1437159131KABUL: (Middle East Press) 22 Afghan citizens have been arrested by Pakistani Police in Punjab province of Pakistan during a campaign launched against illegal immigrants, local media outlets reported.

According to reports, the arrest were being made in Kot Momin are of Sargodha District on Saturday.

Police claim that four Kalashinkovs and four pistols were recovered from the position of these people.

However, Afghan government and afghan officials to comment on the report.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that there are currently around 16, 00000 registered Afghan refugees who are issued proper documentation to stay in Pakistan until the end of this year, the refugee cards issued to them are said to be renewed before they expire.

There are also roughly 10, 00000 Afghan refugees who do not have refugee documents but they might be given legal status to stay in Pakistan in coming six months.
