Pentagon Confirms Killing Of Daesh Leader Hafiz Sayeed

Hafiz Sayeed KhanMEP: Hafiz Sayeed Khan, the leader of Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group has been killed in a drone strike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, Pentagon said.

The United States Defense Department with confirmation of the report says Khan was killed in a U.S.  Drone strike on July 26th.

Pentagon spokesman Gordon Trowbridge was quoted by Fox News as saying “the leader of the terrorist group in Afghanistan and Pakistan was known to directly participate in attacks against U.S. and coalition forces, and the actions of his network terrorized Afghans, especially in Nangarhar”.

During this time, U.S. forces conducted an airstrike targeting Hafiz Sayed Khan in Achin district, resulting in his death,” Trowbridge said.

Trowbridge added the killing of Khan has entered a major blow to the group.

Although Khan’s death last week was published in a number of domestic and foreign media but was not officially confirmed by any credible institution.
