KABUL: (MEP) At least 15 persons were killed and more than 35 others injured when a heavy bomb went off in Pakistan’s troubled northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The explosion was caused by a car bomb hit a government bus on Sunehri Masjid Road near Nothia.

Sources said that the bus was carrying government employees who were to be shifted to the Secretariat.

The attack was the latest in Peshawar, which has been plagued by bombings and gun assaults by the Pakistani Taliban.

A senior police official quoted by Reuters news agency said explosives were apparently planted inside the vehicle.

Reportedly, at least two bodies and more than ten injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack. He reiterated that terror attacks cannot deter nation s resolve to eliminate extremism.
