Lebanese group Hezbollah’s Al Manar television reported the blast occurred at a Syrian army checkpoint on Monday.
The explosion was the third of its kind to hit the Sayeda Zeinab neighborhood, where the holy shrine of the granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is located.
Multiple explosions in February killed scores of people in the Sayeda Zeinab area, in one of the bloodiest attacks there in Syria’s five-year conflict.
No group including Islamic State (IS or Daesh) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
