Otto Pfister, New Mentor For Afghanistan National Football Team

MEP: While less than two months left to the start of the qualifiers for Asian football, “Otto Pfister” in Afghanistan was selected as the new head coach of the national football team.

According to reports, Afghanistan Football Federation after a long talk with different coaches, has finally reached a deal with German’s Pfister and the two sides have officially signed a cooperation agreement today ( 12 February).

Before signing the cooperation agreement, Kiraam-ul-deen Karim, head of the Afghanistan Football Federation stated that are hoping to have acceptable results for the Afghanistan Football with the presence of Pfister.

Meanwhile, Mr Pfister said that he enjoys the competition and challenges and therefore has chosen to lead Afghanistan’s national football team.

The contract with Pfister, is a one year contract and during that time Afghanistan national football team will take part in the Asian Cup qualifiers.

According to the program of Afghanistan Football Federation for one year in cooperation with Pfister, four friendlies for the national team are considered.

The first meeting of Afghanistan’s national football team in the Asian Cup qualifiers, will be held at the end of March 2017 against Vietnam in Tajikistan.

This comes as before Otto Pfister, Anoosh Dastger was carrying the leadership of Afghanistan’s national football team in play against Tajikistan that as the new combined leadership would stand as assistant coach of Pfister and Mansour Faqiryar as goalkeeping coach of the national team will operate.
