Oil Tanker and Bus Crash Kill 57 in Pakistan

KABUL: Middle East Press) At least 57 people have been killed during a direct crash between an oil tanker and a passenger bus in Pakistan.

“The bus carrying around 50 passengers hit the oil tanker, which according to initial reports was coming in a wrong direction,” said senior police official Rao Muhammad Anwaar on Sunday.

The bus was traveling from the southern port city of Karachi to the town of Shikarpur as the crash occurred on a stretch of road, causing both the tanker and the bus to set in fire.

Women and children are among the victims, reports say.

“We are trying to discover if the driver of the oil tanker was only at fault or whether the bus driver also showed negligence,” Anwaar added.
