NDS Thwarts Suicide Attack Plot During Eid Praying In Balkh

    • 12957423_894578603984399_4793259058386673745_oMEP: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) intelligence have arrested two insurgents and bomb makers at a bomb making factory in northern Balkh province.

    A statement NDS said Sunday the factory was discovered during a special operation in Robat village of Chemtal district.

    The two insurgents have been identified as Mehrabuddin son of Noor Mohammad and Mohammad Ewaz Akbari son of Abdul Salam, the statement added.

    NDS also added that the intelligence operatives seized 12 kgs of TNT explosives, 6 Nokia mobile phone sets, some explosives, 2 hand grenades, 20 explosives capsules, 1 remote control, and other types of equipment used to manufacture IEDs.

    The terrorists were reportedly attempting to use the explosives in order launch coordinate attacks during the Eid days and target mosques in the province, according to the statement.
