KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least one foreign members of the NATO-led Resolute Support (RS) mission and one afghan soldier were killed and five others wounded after an afghan soldier opened fire on a gathering attendance in Jalalabad city.

The association group released a statement saying the incident took place in Jalalabad Wednesday afternoon killing one Resolute Support service member and injuring others.

However, the statement did not reveal more details regarding the nationality of the dead soldier.

Resolute Support (RS) generally do not disclose identities of the NATO service members killed in Afghanistan, saying “It is Headquarters Resolute Support policy to defer casualty notification to the relevant national authorities.”

According to Resolute Support an investigation has been launched into the incident.

This was the second NATO soldier killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of the year.
