Nangarhar police leadership introduced to judiciary organizations

KABUL: (MEP) – The interior affairs ministry of Afghanistan on Wednesday announced that the leadership of Nangarhar police has been introduced to judiciary institutions over deadly incident in Shirzad district that left dozens of militants dead including Afghan security forces, khaama reported.

Ministry of interior following a statement said that investigation reports reveals that the operation in sherzad district was conducted against the professional tactics and in the absence of proper assessment of the region where the operation was carried out.

Nearly 100 people including Afghan security forces and Taliban militants were killed following clashes in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan earlier this week.

According to local authorities around 22 Afghan police and 76 Taliban militants were killed during military operations and clashes with the militants in this province.

The clashes between Afghan police and Taliban militants took place while Afghan security forces were on their way back from a military operation in Shirzad district to free family members of a local tribal elder.

Taliban militants group claimed that nearly 86 Afghan police officers were killed and several equipments including vehicles of the Afghan security forces were destroyed during the clashes.
