Nangarhar blast injured 4 police officers, 5 civilians

KABUL: (MEP) – according to the reports at least nine people including four Afghan police officers were injured following an explosion in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on Saturday.

Provincial governor spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai confirming the report said the incident took place in Jalalabad city, leaving nine people injured.

Mr. Ahmadzai further added that the explosion took place in Maulawi Khales town in Jalalabad city around 11am local time.

He said five civilians and four Afghan police officers were injured following the blast, which they were taken to hospital for treatment purposes.

In the meantime, officials in provincial hospital said ten people who were apparently injured following the blast were taken to hospital, khaama reported.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
