Myanmar Landslide kills 50 Miners

Following landslide in Myanmar, at least 54 of the country’s poorest minorities died.

According to International Reports of Middle East Press; Myanmar police officials have said that likely 54 people were feared dead after a landslide in Kachin of Myanmar while they were sleeping and the vehicles and place of 40 others were buried.

Dozens die each year in landslides caused by jade mining, a poorly regulated industry.

A local official pointing that the victims of landlines and collapses are mostly from country`s poor minority, said; “the recovery of bodies is difficult and so far, three dead bodies have been recovered from the mud.”

It is noteworthy that the Myanmar country, in addition to the jade mining, is rich in natural resources, including wood, gold and amber, which the parties involved in the war benefit from.
