KABUL: (Middle East Press) Muslims have gathered and continued their demonstrations in Gaza, Iraq and Kashmir to protest against French humorous weekly Charlie Hebdo’s disrespectful drawing of the Prophet of Islam.
Muslims took to the streets on Wednesday, in the besieged Gaza Strip, Iraq, and Kashmir to show their anger at the caricature of the Prophet Mohammad published in the French magazines of Charlie Hebdo.
Palestinian protesters held a gathering in Gaza to condemn the blasphemous cartoon.
Similarly, thousands of people took part in a demo in the Iraqi capital Baghdad to express their anger at the magazine’s contempt of Muslims’ feelings, saying the publication of the offensive picture of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is in fact a declaration of war against Islam.
Muslims in the Indian-administered Kashmir also took to the streets over the violating cartoon, chanting slogans against the French government. The protesters also lashed out at New Delhi for suppressing Muslims in the disputed region.
The Kashmir rally turned violent after the Indian police used tear gas to disperse angry protesters.
