Militants Execute 20 People in Pakistan

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A group of armed militants have executed at least 20 passengers and injured several others after taking them hostage from two buses in the troubled southwestern Pakistan.

Earlier in the evening, suspected militants had abducted two passenger buses en route Karachi from Pishin.

Local security officials say the militants abducted several passengers and then shot at least 20 of them dead in an execution-style murder.

Soon after reports of abduction emerged, police and Frontier Corps (FC) official rushed to the area and there were reports of heavy exchange of fire between security forces and the kidnappers.

The actual number of abducted passengers has not been confirmed yet. But sources estimate there were around 20 total passengers travelling in the two coaches.

Meanwhile, DCO Mastung claimed that 15 to 20 militants had abducted around 35 passengers.

No group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, but pro-Taliban militants have been blamed for such attacks in the past.

Pakistan’s Balochistan province has seen several gun and bomb attacks over the past couple of years.
