Militants attack on Kabul Bank in Gardez left 33 killed and wounded

“At 2:45 pm local time, a group of insurgent launched a coordinated attack to the Kabul Bank building in the 1st area of Gardiz” Hasrat Abdullah, the spokesman for the provincial governor, told the Middle East Press

During the incident, 3 attackers entered the building and opened fire on the security forces he added.

“The 3 attackers have been gunned down by the security forces and the situation has returned to normal” the spokesman for the provincial governor said

Another possible attacker is being sought by security forces having the area under heavy control he added.

After the complete clearance, the area will be opened to people he said.

“The incident has left 3 killed and 30 wounded” Dr. Shir Mohammad, acting official of public health office in Paktia told the Middle East Press

More death casualties are possible he added.

No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

This is the second coordinated attack launched by the militants in less than a week.

Earlier, another group attack to National Broadcaster in Jalalabad had left 30 killed and wounded
