Mexican Police Found 10 Abductees in Guerrero

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Mexican police have arrested two suspected groups after they managed to find the location of 10 people, who were escaping from their kidnappers in the southern state of Guerrero.

A statement released on Sunday by Mexico’s government stating that soldiers and police were dispatched to the town of Cocula after rumors said 10 to 15 people had been kidnapped in the area.

Security forces located seven people who said they had been kidnapped and were fleeing their captors. They later found six more people in similar conditions.

The statement said some of those discovered suffered injuries and sunstroke, without providing details regarding the way the abductees escaped or how they were rescued.

Three of the people found by soldiers were identified by the other freed hostages as members of the same gang which had kidnapped them, with police taking two of the suspects into custody.

Over 100,000 people have been killed in Mexico in gang-related violence since 2007.
