Media Disinformation: Saudi-Backed Al Khalifa Regime Demolished This Mosque

MosqueKABUL: (MEP) Military operations of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi popular mobilization units) in purging Iraqi cities of ISIS terrorists backed by Arab countries, particularly the Gulf states, raised the discontent and anger of the Arab Affiliated media outlets concomitant with the campaign trying to tarnish the image of the Iraqi popular mobilization forces.

In a new series of desperate attempts, a picture of a demolished Sunni mosque shared in social networks, claimed to be demolished by the Iraqi popular mobilization forces. Hayyal al-Shammari the Saudi infamous poet, shared this image on his Twitter account, accusing what he described as ”mercenaries” who demolished the mosque and violated the holy sites.

After a short research, it became clear that the mosque is Shiites Amir Mohammad al-Barbaghi mosque in Bahrain, which demolished by the Saudi-backed forces of Al Khalifa regime during the protests demanding freedom and the fight against corruption.

On the other hand Thamer Sabhan, the Saudi ambassador to Baghdad, fired a series of statements that considered by the Iraqi foreign ministry as interference in Iraqi affairs. The Iraqi foreign ministry summoned Sabhan to provide clarifications after he accused the Iraqi popular mobilization forces of ethnic genocide for the interest of neighbouring countries.

Observers believe that Saudi Arabia’s frustration politically and on the ground –after the Iraqi popular mobilization forces advancements towards besieged cities by ISIS terrorists– pushed Saudi media to promote and use different types of disinformation against Iraqi people who inflicted heavy losses on Gulf states-backed terrorists.
