Maulana Sami ul Haq is a Pakistani religious (chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan) scholar and former Senator. He was member of the Senate of Pakistan from 1985 to 1991 and again from 1991 to 1997.
Geo News reported Maulana Sami ul Haq has been killed on Friday evening (02 November 2018) in an attack in Rawalpindi city, Pakistan.
According to the report, Maulana Sami ul Haq was killed near a police station in Rawalpindi city, gunmen riding on motorbikes opened fire on Maulana Sami ul Haq’s vehicle and as a result he was injured and then died and one of his security guard also has sustained serious injured.
A member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islaml Pakistan has confirmed Maulana Sami ul Haq’s assassination.
