Massive Popular March to Be Kicked Off In Support of Clean Votes

KABUL (MEP) — “Popular Civic Marchers In Support of Clean Votes” has announced that it will set out a large popular protest march against any illegal IEC non-biometric vote counting.

Popular Civic Marchers In Support of Clean Votes said in a statement that the popular large protests will be kicked off on Friday, Nov. 29.

The full statement is as follows:

In the name of God

Compassionate, knowledgeable and awake people of Kabul

Peace be upon you

As you are aware, a lengthy process was negotiated between political parties and the election teams in order to prevent repeat of bitter experiences of widespread fraud in the 2014 presidential and 2018 parliamentary elections and to prevent crises, so the talks resulted in use of biometric system in 2019 presidential election, as well as, the issue has been written in Article 19 of the Electoral Code, bills and electoral procedures.

Therefore, and according to the law non-biometric votes are invalid.

But now despite the explicit rule of law and the emphasis of all election teams on the non-validity of non-biometric ballots, and the emphasis on ensuring transparency and to select clean votes, and announcing results based on people’s clean votes, the Nondependent Election Commission in cooperation with ARG (President`s Office) has organized a coup movement against people’s clean votes. So they are trying to announce the election results not on the basis of the clean votes of the people, but following validating more than three hundred thousand non-biometric and fraudulent votes in favor of the ARG cheating team.

Now it is time that requires Kabul residents in cooperation with other Afghans living in provinces come together and set out a large civic, historical, anti-cruelty and anti-fraud protest march in order to call for transparency in election and in support of clean votes so we will stop the rule of oppression and cruelty.

In a statement issued by the Popular Marchers, Shaheed Mazari Road, Kute-Sangi, Dehmazang Circle, Pule-Bagheomomy, Fawareab were announced as the stations and direction of the protests.
