KABUL: (Middle East Press) Unknown men have abducted at least 20 people in central Daikundi province Wednesday evening.
All of the abductees are reported to be Shia Muslims from Baloch minority of Afghanistan.
District governor of Kajran district, Zamin Poya says that the Taliban are behind the kidnapping however, Taliban had not made any comments regarding the abduction yet.
Poya added that around 500 Taliban fighters who are equipped with light and heavy weapons have been fighting with security forces from the past ten days in Kajran district.
If additional forces do not arrive in the region the district could fall into Taliban’s hand.
No group has so far made any comments about the incident
This is at least fourth incident of abduction in less than two months in Afghanistan.
