Man Including 7 Others Arrested for Burning Woman in Kabul

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A man along with seven others have been arrested for being involved in murder of a 27-year-old woman in Kabul accused of burning the Holy Quran.

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A man along with seven others have been arrested for being involved in murder of a 27-year-old woman in Kabul accused of burning the Holy Quran.

According to the security officials, the man was identified as Sharaf Baghlany who was arrested following a special military operation in Capital Kabul.

Baghlany had claimed through a Facebook post that he was involved in murdering a woman together with his gang and eventually setting her body on fire.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) Sediq Sediqi said Friday that the Interior Minister has ordered to launch an investigation into the incident and arrest all the criminals behind the murdering.

Regarding to the remarks by Hashmatullah Stanikzai, spokesman for the Kabul Police Department, Sediqi said Stanikzai is an employee of public relations office in the Ministry of Interior and it is important that the incident should be investigated carefully.

Stanikzai had said Farkhunda was looking to secure asylum by burning Holy Quran, accusing her of apostasy.

In the meantime, Sediqi said the incident is systematically being investigated from all directions including the role of the police forces.
