Baz Mohammad Ahmadi, Deputy of Counter-Narcotics in the Ministry made the announcement at a press conference on Sunday.
Ahmadi said the cargo included more than 700 kilograms of opium that was loaded from Badakhshan and was heading towards Helmand, Kandahar and the border with Pakistan.
According to him, in connection with the shipment, six smugglers and a driver were detained and investigations are also underway.
The load was embedded in a car and a truck-Benz Hino also accompanied it and on the basis of available documents, smugglers had links with terrorist groups and armed Taliban.
