He is said to be safe and well, though reports say he has a bandaged hand.

The 25-year-old striker was reportedly taken near his home while returning from a party with his girlfriend. His girlfriend was unharmed.

Officials said the rescue operation was carried out on Sunday night, without giving more details.

Pulido plays for the Greek team Olympiakos and has made several appearances for Mexico’s national team.

During a photo op with the state governor, he told reporters he was doing well after his ordeal but was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
