Key Taliban Commander Killed In Kunduz Airstrike
MEP: A key armed Taliban commander along with six of his men have been targeted and killed by Afghan airstrike in Char Dara district of Kunduz province.
The Ministry of Interior said Sunday in a statement the air campaign was launched last night in the village of Sarak Payen.
The Taliban commander ‘Janat’ has been identified as one of the key Taliban commanders in planning and organizing terrorist attacks in Char Dara district and other areas, the statement added.
The Ministry acknowledged the death of Janat very influential for the country’s safety.
Reports say Janat had kidnapped over dozens of passengers from Badakhshan in Kunduz.
The armed Taliban have not commented on the report so far.
