Karzai’s opposition to airstrikes on Taliban positions!

The ex-president has been opposed to airstrikes in the country, while internal and external security forces claim that the attacks are carried out on armed Taliban positions.

Hamid Karzai has opposed the military air attacks and considers it conflicting to peace efforts, Middle East Press reports.

“The ex-president expresses his deep concern about the increase in civilian casualties in the country,” the office of the ex-president as saying in a newsletter.

Hamid Karzai calling the intensification of military operations in absolute conflict with peace efforts, asked the Afghan government and the United States to immediately abandon the dual and contradictory policies on peace efforts.

Referring to foreign troops` airstrikes in Shiwan village of Balabuluk district of Farah province, the newsletter strongly condemns the attack, which has killed and injured civilians.

Karzai had previously criticized foreign troops` airstrikes in Afghanistan during and after his presidency.

Meanwhile, foreign and eternal forces have identified air strikes on Taliban positions as one of the main means of eliminating armed oppositions of the government, especially the Taliban, and insist that their attacks on Taliban positions are continuing.
