Rafiullah Gul Afghan, a former member of the Senate whose vehicle was targeted in the blast, in an interview with Middle East Press said, the attack occurred around 9:30am this morning after a remote control mine targeted his vehicle when he was passing through the area.
However, he was not hurt in the blast.
The dead include four local residents, a woman and a child and the injured include three body guards of the former senator, he added.
Meanwhile, the press office of the Kabul police chief, confirmed the incident but refused to give further details.
Rafiullah Gul Afghan, was also came under such attacks before in what he did not compromise in any attack. The first attack was launched on him about two years and the second one about two months ago.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
