Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Stresses ‘Support’ For Taliban Insurgents In Afghanistan

KABUL: (MEP) Political religious group Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami branch) has highlighted its ‘full support’ for Afghanistan’s Taliban insurgents and is proud of its decision.

The group is led by Maulana Sami-ul-Haq also (known as the spiritual father of the Taliban).

Maulana Yousaf Shah, who heads the group in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at “defending Islam” conference by criticizing the western power said the clamor of all the leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam against western powers is raised.

He also criticized the ruling party Pakistan (PML-N) and other political parties of the country such as PPP and PTI, said “the parties do not have any plans to support the religion and people, they are just seeking to promote secularism.”

Jamiat Ulema Islam Pakistan’s support of the Taliban insurgency comes as Islamabad and a number of its parties have been charged many times by Kabul government over supporting Taliban insurgents and the continuation of the war in Afghanistan.
