Israeli Minister Says ‘I Prefer ISIS To Iran In Syria’

898198866KABUL: (MEP) Israel’s Minister of Military Affairs Moshe Ya’alon said Tuesday that he prefers presence of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group in Syria than an Iranian proxy.

Ya’alon speaking at a conference in Tel Aviv, stressed that “Iran is our main enemy,” and if he were to choose between Iran and Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in an open conflict, he would “prefer ISIS.” Ynet news reported.

Moshe added Iran poses a greater threat than ISIS and that if the Syrian regime were to fall, Israel would prefer that ISIS was in control of the territory than Iranian substitution.

“We believe ISIS will be eventually defeated territorially after the blows it has been suffering, and in light of the attacks on its oil reserves,” he said, using an alternative acronym for ISIS.

Ya’alon claimed that “Iran determines future of Syria and if it leads to perpetuation, Iranian hegemony in Syria will be huge challenge for Israel.” As describing Iran the “greatest enemy” of Israel.
