Israel Has Highest Poverty Rates And Income Inequality Among OECD Member States

israel-flag-dec08KABUL: (MEP) The Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth news agency reported Jewish settlers in Palestinian occupied territories also protest to high living costs in addition to insecurity.

According to the Tel Aviv Times website, in a report titled situations in occupied lands are as bad as you think this news agency announced the occupation is a new country that has recently gotten rid of the aftermath of the 2008 economic crisis, but many families consider it an expensive country to live in. The standard of living level for every family per capital is lower than average and deprivation levels is worse than most Western Economic Club member states.

The report asserted an Israeli citizen stated that income ratio to the cost of living is not acceptable. This feeling is common among most Occupation citizens and statistics confirms it.

Expenditures in food market and the high costs of housing and living are much higher than most OECD member states, In addition to high living costs, poor quality of social services such as transportation and education is significant in occupied territories. Israel’s economy has been weakened due to high levels of poverty.

According to Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) report Israel has the highest poverty rates and income inequality among the organization’s member states.
