Israel Approves 800 New Settler Homes
MEP: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved plans to build around 800 new settler homes in East Jerusalem and the surrounding area.
Netanyahu and his freshly-appointed Defense Minister, Avigdor Lieberman sanctioned the plans on Sunday to construct 560 new housing units in Ma’ale Adumim, a West Bank settlement right outside the capital, some 140 homes more were approved for the Jewish East Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramot and other 100 for the Har Homa neighborhood, in southeast Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Post reported.
No official announcement was however made.
Meanwhile, other media reports that the Prime Minister also approved the construction work of 600 houses for Palestinians in the Arab neighborhood of Beit Safafa.
