KABUL: (Middle East Press) An ISIS-affiliated media outlet, al-Isdarat, has recently released a statement warning the Emirati officials to immediately quit the U.S.-led air strikes against positions held by the so-called Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS), or to face the retaliatory terrorist attacks on Emirati soil, including mass car bombings.
In early February, ISIS has callously torched to death in a cage the ill-fated Jordanian pilot, Moaz al-Kasasbeh, and released the gruesome footages of his atrocious killing, drawing harsh worldwide condemnations.
“We shall burn you and your family alive in your house, for you joining the western crusade against the Islamic State,” reads ISIS’ statement on Sunday, warning the Emirati pilot Mariam al-Mansuri in its latest series of intimidation.
UAE’s participation in the U.S.-led air campaign against ISIS militants has stirred up great controversy in UAE’s inner circles of power where Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed –who restlessly waits for his chances of ascending the throne – has long been accused by his opponents of jeopardizing nation’s booming economy and relative political stability by dragging the oil-rich monarchy in what might to be an another costly and futile war.
