Iran’s Zarif Reacts to US Sanctions

The United States has imposed sanctions on Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, but he says action has ‘no effect’.

According to the International Reports of Middle East Press, the Iranian Foreign Minister yesterday included a list of Washington sanctions against Iran.

“Javad Zarif implements the reckless agenda of Iran’s Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei),” said the US Department of the Treasury.

“It has no effect on me or my family,” Mr. Zarif responded to US sanctions in a tweet.

“The US’ reason for designating me is that I am Iran’s primary spokesperson around the world,” he said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif further said, “Is the truth so painful? It doesn’t affect me or my family because I have no property or interests outside of Iran. Thank you for calling me such a threat to your agenda. ”

Mohammad Javad Zarif is sanctioned by US while he is going to attend a UN summit in New York next week.

US President Donald Trump had previously imposed sanctions on the Iran’s Supreme Leader and his office on June 7, with an executive order.
