Iran Revolutionary Guard Fires Missiles at U.S. Military Base in Iraq

 KABUL (MEP) – The Iran Revolutionary Guard has launched missiles targeting US military bases in Iraq’s Anbar province.

The Iran Revolutionary Guard on Wednesday, January 08, launches missiles targeting Ain al-Asad military base housing US troops in Anbar, Iraq.

The missile attacks were confirmed by US forces and the Iran Revolutionary Guard.

“Tens of surface-to-surface missiles hit the Ain al-Assad airbase in Iraq,” the Iran Revolutionary Guard said in a statement.

At the same time, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, tweeted a statement that said: “We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression”.

On the other hand, Pentagon confirming the attacks, said that there were no initial reports of any US casualties.

Some media reported that missile attacks hit several US aircrafts, but the Pentagon did not provide details.
