Iran Police Arrests Two Terrorists Affiliated With ISIL

n00086937-bMEP: The Iranian security intelligence officers have arrested two terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State (IS or Daesh) terror group in western province of Hamadan, a senior Iranian intelligence official announced.

General Abtahi, the director of intelligence ministry’s office in the western province of Hamedan, told reporters on Saturday night that the two were trying to reach the capital city of Tehran when they were spotted and arrested.

The development comes as on Friday, Iran’s Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi announced that security officials had dismantled more than 20 terrorist groups that had planned to detonate bombs and cause insecurity across the country during the last Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19). He added that a large amount of weapons and ammunition was confiscated from the terrorists.
