Intelligence Officer Shot Dead in Kapisa

KABUL (MEP) – Sources in Kapisa say that a provincial intelligence officer has been shot, killed on Saturday.

The incident took place Saturday, July 4, in the Dangarkhil area of central city of Mahmood Raqi, according to Kapisa police spokesman Shayeq Shurish.

“Unidentified gunmen shot an intelligence officer, Moheb al-Rahman to death and fled the area,” he stated.

“Efforts are ongoing to investigate the incident, but no one has been arrested so far.”

Meantime, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“Enemies suffered defeats in battle ground so that they attempt to carry out targeted attacks,” he added.

Kapisa police spokesman also said several criminals had also been detained by police and that efforts were being made to secure the province.
