KABUL: (Middle East Press) Local security officials confirmed that a group of Taliban insurgents have stormed in Shindand district of western Herat province and launched coordinated attack early Tuesday.

Officials said that the militants are in clashes with the afghan security forces but they did not provide details regarding the casualties of both sides so far.

This attack comes two days after Taliban insurgents attacked and took control of Jawand district in western Badghis province.

Taliban militants are yet to comment regarding the attack.

Shindand is one of Herat’s insecure districts where anti-government militants frequently target civilians and afghan army soldiers.
