Increase in casualties of attack on Int’l Organization in Kabul
The casualties of armed Taliban attack on Int’l Organization on Wednesday in Shahr-e-Naw downtown of Kabul has risen to 9, MoIA said.
According to Middle East Press, a number of armed invaders entered the “Counterpart Org” and clashed with security forces after a heavy blast near the gate of building.
At least 5 deaths and 24 injuries were announced at the end of the day, but today (Thursday, May 09), the Ministry of Interior said the casualty toll has increased to 9 people.
Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the MoIA wrote on his Twitter account that at a recent attack on International Counterpart, 9 people, including one special force, 4 public security guards, one guard of the Counterpart and 3 civilians, died and another 20 civilians wounded.
Five attackers were also killed by the security forces in the attack.
The armed Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
At the start of the holy month of Ramadan, this is the second suicide and group attack that the Taliban undertook the responsibility. The attack on 1st night of Ramadan was directed at Baghlan Police headquarter.
Meanwhile, the Peace Consultative Loya Jirga, after six days in its resolution, called for a cease-fire from the Taliban.
