Imran Khan, Trump to hold meeting

KABUL (MEP) – US and Pak leaders are sit to hold talks for the first time since the presidency of Pakistan`s Imran Khan.

Donald Trump intends to urge Imran Khan to fight against terrorism and extremism in the region and invite him to support peace process in Afghanistan.

This is Imran Khan’s first visit to Washington as prime minister of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan arrived Washington yesterday and will meet US president Donald Trump today Monday, July 22.

Accordingly, the Pakistani prime minister is scheduled to meet with officials from the Department of Defense, Energy and the Treasury of the US.

The leaders of the two countries will meet with each other as the relationship between Islamabad and Washington has intensified, and on the other hand, the Afghan peace process has become more serious.

Therefore, the US leader is trying to persuade Imran Khan, due to Pakistan’s major role in Afghanistan, to support Afghan peace process and better relation between two countries.

However, Donald Trump wrote in a tweet, 2018, “The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years.”
