KABUL: (MEP) – The commission has no budget for holding the election and the donor countries use their money for the Afghanistan election in a particular method, said IEC officials.
After the finalized list of presidential and provincial council candidates, currently IEC should print millions of ballots that will let the people vote for their favorite candidates. But yet it is not clear whether the ballots will be printed in Afghanistan or in other countries.
Noor Muhammad Noor, IEC spokesman said, “We do not have any budget for the upcoming election. The donor countries have not given money for printing the ballots to the IEC or UNDP.”
Printing or ballots in a determined time and security of the ballots are the conditions of IEC.
According to officials, for volunteering of printing the ballots, local and foreign companies will participate, Ariana news reported.
Nawid Hakimi, head of a private press said, “I can say with absolute certainty that there are necessary facilities for printing the ballots in Afghanistan and we can ensure the security of the ballots.”
According to statistics, Afghanistan has about 12 million eligible voters.
