Herat- 24 killed and wounded in Oba explosion
As a result of a blast in the Oba district of Herat, three people were killed and 21 were wounded, including district governor.
“The incident occurred around 8:30 AM today morning (Saturday, May 18) in the Oba district of the Herat,” Herat Governor`s spokesman Jilani Farhad told Middle East Press.
According to him, the incident was caused by the explosion of explosives embedded in a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and 21 injuries, including the Oba district governor.
“Oba district governor was the target of the blast,” Farhad added.
Meanwhile, Herat public health officials said five dead and 20 injured are transferred to the Oba district hospital, which most of them are civilians and children.
So far, no group or individuals has claimed responsibility for the event.
