Helmand clashesKABUL: (Middle East Press) Around 30 Taliban insurgents have been killed and more than 35 others injured in heavy clashes between Taliban members and Afghan security forces in southern Helmand province, local officials said on Wednesday.

The clashes were launched in past two days after Taliban insurgents attacked police headquarters and police outposts in Kajaki district, the Helmand police media officials reported.

Meanwhile, Abdul Majid Akhundzada, a member of the Provincial Council of Helmand said five members of security forces were also injured during the clashes.

“The security forces have tactically moved back from some parts of the district,” he said.

However, no more details have been given regarding the incident.

The anti-government insurgents are yet to comment in this regard.
